Seagate ES.2 000000cc problem

Postby gbulger » 07.07.16, 14:02

I have the following error on this 500gb drive:

FlashLED - Failure Code:000000cc Failure Address:0024a50d

Am I right in trying to repair using the HDD Lock(LED:000000cc) solution?

Because it is ES.2 you will need to short circuit the read channels - it is probably not possible to get T> from PCB alone on this model.

What is FW on drive label?

Bad Translator. Short read channel, clear smart, regenerate translator, image data. :D

Same as classic SD15 fix?

SD15 will give T> on PCB alone allowing the option to spindown and reattach HDD. SN04 and most ES.2 will not allow this, so only way to reach terminal is to short circuit. Once shorted T> will be present and original steps can then be followed.
