How to make a com-port connection with WD USB drive

But how to use it?
Is there anything on the manual about this? Where can I find more info?
Because I have a USB drive to work with, and if I could get this to work without the need of a PCB, ROM swap, etc, it would be great.

The option appears now very cleary on the new version.
You connect the USB drive, then select USB family and it will start the utility.

On a 2060-771962, I use connections like usb2 drives
it has 6 pins in one row, like usb2 drives on fist picture on this thread. You can't use toshiba adapter because of case, but Rx, Tx and GND are the same (I use cdrom cable)

All you have to do is jam the Samsung adapter in there and bam! it works.

I think a ground connection is pretty much always optional with WD. I never bother.

I think its working cos usb ground might be in use

Exactly. And even with the SATA boards, I never bother with a ground and it works too. Probably because it's getting the ground from the SATA power cable.
