Hi

I have this HDD which spins OK, no clicks and it goes Ready.
But If I try to ID it or something, it goes BSY.

Any Ideas? Can I do something by terminal?

Hi,

I have a solution for those.
Have you solved it?

1. Isolate motor contacts on PCB; drive will be BSY; 2. Enter Toshiba utility; accept all prompts even though BSY; 3. Select Read MP RAM (Terminal) from SA menu; 4. Drive will come ready even though it's not spinning at this point; 5. Re-connect motor contacts on PCB; 6. Select Drive ID from appropriate menu; drive will now ID properly but is still not spinning; 7. Choose to re-calibrate drive; 8. Exit Toshiba utility and then re-enter it. Drive now spins up, IDs properly. Proceeded to erase G-list. Powered down drive. Re-powered.

another easy way
power on then try id it will go busy . don't enter utility and leave it as it for some minuets it will not be busy .drd ,dsc and DRQ will be green . go for id and clear g list
