when you say nothing happens, what does this mean? Does it identify as a device within the system? Did you try to access it with anything? Are you presented with a Smartware window?

You need to write symptoms here, without symptoms it will be impossible to attempt to give any advice to you on it.

hi
nothing happens means that the host computer does not detect it , not in "disk management" nor the "Device Manager"
but thorough COM 3 port i was able to read all the Modules and Rom and SA tracks and in WD family window all the notification were shown as I mentioned .

I just tried with pc3000

best regards

The device is receiving power and should show something in device manager, even if the HDD was defective. Because you can read via COM port, I guess there is something wrong with the USB connection or some element associated with it.

Dear AJ2008
you are right !!!
i tried "translator regeneration (use plist and glist (for data recovery ))
i connect the h.d.d to the computer using USB3 cable , in device manager , it is detected as " WD MY PASSPORT 0740 USB DEVICE "
good news is that this H.D.D is detected in disk management now but as an UNALLOCATED DRIVE PARTITION (it was not detected before in Disk Management) .

i tried in DE to recover data but it has lots of bad LBA ( in MAP sheet there are several black squares ) and it is very very slow .
any suggestion plz

If it is unstable you should not work with it under USB. Switch it to SATA.

If you continue to work with it as is over USB you will cause media to degrade further. You need proper diagnosis also, maybe your problem is bad or failing head(s).
