MHV2080AH Password

Postby Mike_Montgomery » 16.01.09, 09:51

Is there a way of unlocking PW protected MHVxxAH drives?

When running the unlock password wizard I get a message saying SU us not writable an that I should use terminal to remove the password - I dont know the jumper settings for the adapter.. Does anyone know this info ?

Mike
That's a very good question I have the same problem. On the previous PC3K I used the Hitachi jumper settings successfully but for the UDMA this is not the solution. Did you resolve this?

You should have a MHV terminal adaptor with your PC3000 for removal of password, it attaches to PCB and should be a simple procedure, unless I am misunderstanding the problem.

Hi,

I have PC3K UDMA and the new Fujitsu terminal connector. Though there was no documentation regarding the terminal connector to PCB connections, I tried and it it worked swiftly with MHV2080BH

Regards,

Mathew

If you havent adapter you can use seagate sata adapter and 2 goldpins. (TX and RX is enough). just look at pcb there are 4 holes for connector, put these goldpins there and look on seagate sata adapter where TX RX traces go. This is all you need. Tommorow ill take a picture for adapter placement.

Here it is
