Hello everyone,
We have a drive that requires a heads swap : ST1000LM035 Serial Number: WC0....
There are currently no donor drives in the universe that would match serial number starting with WC0 and be available for purchase.
Is there a way to get a preamp version from the rom?
I only have got this information from ROM:

At least we can get a head map. Nothing on the Ace Blog, there is only a solution for regular drives : https://blog.acelab.eu.com/pc-3000-for- ... rsion.html
Thanks in advance!!

Re: ST1000LM035 Rosewood Preamp Type from ROM
Just match "Head vendor.............. : default"
Can be "default" or "alternative"
Almost all are "default" if you get a "alternative" one, prepare to pay a very high donor price.

+1, don't depend on the s/n, just match "Default" (and head map, obviously)

The outcome:
The drives are absolutely different inside. Patient has 3 heads and two platters. Donor Only two heads and one platter.
So because we did not have Logical head map for donor drive, we have a really different drive... We will keep looking for a donor.
Thanks everyone!

Re: ST1000LM035 Rosewood Preamp Type from ROM
Sure, easiest if head map is the same. In your case just find a 2 TB Rosewood, they all have 4 heads.
Seen 500 GB and 1 TB Rosewoods with 2 platters and 4 heads. But 9 out of 10 1TB Rosewoods here, are 1 platter models.

@digitalsupport
Thank you for your message. Yeah,we found that someone published the donor compatibility for this drive. We found that Model : ST2000LM007-1R8174 with preamp type 82 12 and 4 heads is compatible. It did work. However, we encountered another problem with the drive showing 0mb capacity (initially it was showing 1 tb for first 2 minutes). It seems to be the issue with the translator. There are many threads and Ace article about that you can not regenerate translator for Rosewood drives, however the are no clear instructions what to do about this problem. Did anyone encounter this problem before and have a solution? It would be highly appreciated.
