New family of M11 drives?

Postby Paradog84 » 17.09.21, 13:52

Has anyone come across any of these newer M11 Seagates?

Fam ID................... : 0xCF, (Fam_CF)
Fam Member............... : 0x1
SN....................... : WCJ5LPCX
Servo FW rev code........ : 0xB1BF
Max head................. : 9
Seek mode................ : 2000
Flags.................... : 0A09
Head vendor.............. : default
RRO mode................. : 0005
Preamp type.............. : 0000
Heads polarity........... : 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Logical head map......... : 00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09
Phys head maps........... : 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

ROM is unreadable via terminal - we had to remove it a manually dump in external programmer (2Mb)
Tech Unlock patch results in LED:0x000000BB FAddr:0x00004300 instantly from power on (drive does spin but never becomes ready)

Loading the ROM into Seagate Utility - we are able to modify the Logical Head map, import adaptives etc, but not Tech patch

Thank you for confirming...

I'm looking at one of these drives now, we have a working drive (potential donor) to play with, but not looking good so far (tech patch unsuccessful)

These drives are locked on the Boot ROM level (that's why you can't read/write the flash through the terminal) and old patch won't work
