Hi,
Using the latest version.
The drive came with physical issue. Did all the required action. Have been able to explore the volume under DE. While, I was checking/exploring folders/subfolders one by one, suddenly whatever folders I was accessing were showing empty. After a power reset, I see sector shows unusual, I tried Slow fix(It was never harmful, also can restore it back once necessary), in few seconds its 0000. I restored the fix, 02, 32, its remains same
Started to read fw, 190 read fail. Read 0 and 1 amap, wrote this back, but still its 0000.
While I find no others way, now started to read by Utility (READ PBA).
Question1 - is there any bug to the new released utility?
Question2 - The partial 2ndery translator I read can be useful to get back original structure of data?

Re: Palmer -suddenly all became zero (0000) during file checkup
If all required action means change HSA, lock UA writing and SA backup before any reading, then you did right.
Have not noticed any bugs and without original or reconstructed mod 190 you will not get structures back.

I have backed up everything, but 190 was found unreadable in both copy. I was able to read partial of 190. Can it help?

If you can reconstruct a module 190 from the copies you got, then it might help you.

Re: Palmer -suddenly all became zero (0000) during file checkup
Unfortunately, it's not helping
Even, head map creation fails in DE.
Now, we have to see if there is any way to rebuild/regenerate. Current technology don't give such feature, may be in future!
Also, I noticed, PBA reading is not giving any useful data.

Actually, I would not say that PBA reading can't getany useful data. We have had a lot of cases with good RAW results. But RAW results may depend on FW peculiarities or heads writing ability. Anyway, it's better to contact us at https://ts.acelab.eu.com/ if you have questions.

In my experience, if 190 was saved when data access already lost, the only way is RAW recovery using PBA reading in DE.

Re: Palmer -suddenly all became zero (0000) during file checkup
Thank You Maxim.
It can read approximate first 30% area, skipping a lot of areas due to defects, the platter is found unstable as well while reading in PBA, HSA died after reading first 30% area, I scanned on done area, and found some swf files, zip file etc. while no document/jpg were produced.
If I can remember correctly, the translator lost during HEAD MAP creation, Head Map creation failed, later I think, I came to see file/folders in DE one by one, It was showing empty, gave a power reset, and it was no more accessible.
Client was in hurry, took back the HDD already.
I will get back on TS if client wants to send the drive again.

Write protection helps in cases if heads are weak and can damage 190 module rewriting it continuosly.
