Re: ROSEWOOD_A5 FAMILY TRASNLATOR PROBLEM
Are you really sure it's a translator issue and not possibly one of the dozen other causes for this?(e.g. weak heads, a failed head, etc.)

If translator module is damaged, first sector would not read. I assume someone has regen this translator without preserving MC or NRG entries resulting in part access to data area only.....
Re: ROSEWOOD_A5 FAMILY TRASNLATOR PROBLEM
28. I could not read the system file. I did the trasnlator regeranation. Now I can only read up to 300,000,000 of the 2TB capacity disc. Is there a way to solve this?

Re: ROSEWOOD_A5 FAMILY TRASNLATOR PROBLEM
did you make backup of important sysfiles before regenerating translators ? if no, you are in trouble.

Re: ROSEWOOD_A5 FAMILY TRASNLATOR PROBLEM
Yeah, translator regeneration is not good idea
28 File Id (aka translator) has several sub-files. The most important is S-list (where defects from Pl-list and G-lists are actually gathered). The point is to read out the S-list, when you read S-list you have more chances to recover data without losses.
For more information please contact TS department
