ST31000524AS-No Terminal Access

Hi Guys,

I have this one that spin up get RDY DSC state with no error in terminal but I can't access to it.

I tried with spamming ctrl--->z, shorting read channel but maybe I could not catch the right moment (the spindle does not stop). I never had any luck or ability to unlock the terminal with shorting read channels.

So I tried with the patch in ROM via boot code but it does not work, i.e the patch is not applied.

Perhaps with this family it is not possible to apply the patch.

In attached the read channel point that I used.

you have to wait a little bit and it should reach F3>

Solved,
I caught the right moment with shorting read channel. Once I had access to the terminal, I backed up the most important SYS files via terminal.

Then edited SYS file 93, clear SMART and so I read some sectors from the utility. 100% cloned.
