Those are both FBLite family. The DCM matches the critical parts, and the date isn't too far off. If the country of manufacture are the same, I'd say it's 90% chance of being compatible. If it's different countries, more like 70% chance.

This is from personal experience or 'educated guess'? '

I have documented successful cases with different date and country, but other factors such as Preamp revision are good match.

Both. It's pretty much always an educated guess. I've probably done around 200 FBLite head swaps, so I'd say I've got a fair amount of personal experience.

I'd say it has a very good chance, but I'd never say 100%. I've seen WD drives that were literally from the same RAID set and seemed to match every relevant spec yet somehow had different preamp just because of a few weeks difference in manufacturing date. FBLite family is pretty forgiving for heads replacements, but I've seen all sorts of anomalies with WD. With some other families, I've had cases where every well matched donor you try doesn't work for heads and the one that finally works was a horrible match.

When purchasing a donor I guess it is a good idea to match all aspects as close as possible, especially if you have to pay a premium. If you have a lot of donors then it is not so important. I can't remember the last time I checked the country of manufacture on an FBLite. I have used "mismatched" DCM info on numerous occasions and date codes of 2 years difference quite often.

Did the WD10JPCX-24UE4T0 work?

I'm finding that the WD10JPCX-24UE4T0 is usually from Malaysia and the USB WD10JMVW-11AJGS2 is from Thailand..
