I have a SEAGATE F3 Family drive that I corrected from LED problem, in DE some files are recovered with zero capacity, I noticed that DE is showing RED notes about these files saying:
INDEX entry has BAD MFT Record 17837 ACCFILE.CDX
MID = 000021281 Attribute $20 Parsed FAIL! NAME : trafile.DBF
MID = 000182952 Attribute $20 Parsed FAIL! NAME : CALLS.DBF
MID = 000182978 Attribute $20 Parsed FAIL! NAME : CHKFILE.FPT
MID = 000187243 Attribute $20 Parsed FAIL! NAME : GSTFILE.CDX
MID = 000017401 Attribute $20 Parsed FAIL! NAME : GSTFILE.DBF
MID = 000200352 Attribute $20 Parsed FAIL! NAME : hresfile.dbf
What does this mean
Attribute $20 Parsed FAIL!

Re: Attribute $20 Parsed FAIL!
Please tell me , what operations you have tried on that case?
I advise you to run SCAN MFT+INDX then check the results.
Also , a good idea is to read all MFT records from this drive, by creating a partition map and scanning MFT Records chain.If the drive has reading problems you can even try to set "Read with active PC-3000 Utility" option.

Re: Attribute $20 Parsed FAIL!
Hi I too have a Seagate drive. Shows index entry has bad mft record.
I tried the method ace_admin suggest scan mft+index
If I put yes to transmit data in spite of error, I get orange box read by utility
If I put no to transmit data in spite of error, l get black box.
Should I choose no or yes?
The read from utility will cause data shift. Since it is only reading on mft&index does the data shift matters?

Well,
Never Say Yes To This It Will Not Recover Data From That Sector Properly And Then You Will Have Issue Parsing MFT Record Properly .If You Get Black Box That Sector is Indeed Bad .Try Lowering Read Speed And Try Increasing timeout time
