In many cases your error (FAIL Servo Op=0100 Resp=0003) is bad heads. With Seagate DM series the bad heads are often a result of media damage/failure. When you place the donor heads and power the drive the donor heads are instantly damaged. I recommend that you place the donor heads back in the donor HDD and see if they still work. It also helps if you can post the specs from the donor label so we can see if the donor was actually a good candidate for the head swap.
Tip: Before you pull heads from a donor go to terminal and enter Ctrl + L to get the preamp info and write it down. If you can get terminal access on a patient drive you can match the donor heads by preamp number. The preamp tip is most likely not helpful in this case because you typically don't have terminal access with error "FAIL Servo Op=0100 Resp=0003".
