Pavan ,
Lets assume we have a DVR with a 2TB HDD and it can record for 1 Month Without Getting HDD Full .Now when the hdd is full it will delete the first created recording and overwrite that data .How can you then possibly recover that .First sk the client what is what and post it i can then suggest a method weere we can both try it .

Re: DVR Hdd not identified any files
First off, you should know that DVRs do not use any standardized file system. Likely it may have a small linux partition which stores some metadata, but beyond that it's the DVRs own proprietary way of writing video stream. So you'd need some really expensive software like DVR Examiner or someone who knows how to work with DVRs to recover anything from it. Data recovery software like R-Studio and even Data Extractor doesn't work with most CCTV systems. That's a specialty all it's own.
As to your specific case, unless the clips you are looking for is just slightly older than what's visible using the DVR's own software you're not going to find anything. Generally they'll completely overwrite all data over and over again as the record just as Amarbir already mentioned.

Re: DVR Hdd not identified any files
We are thinking about supporting DVR file
systems and this link is very useful for us.
Could you answer me on few questions?
- How many DVR cases have you had at all?
- What filesystems were there (WFS, HIKVISION or something else)?

Re: DVR Hdd not identified any files
I've had three or four show up, and that's without advertising anything about recovering them. However, 3 of the 4 had HDDs that were catastrophically destroyed from the criminal who robbed the place smashing the DVR around to ruin it. Only one was a recovery we actually did, and I hired a programmer who writes his own software to do it. It was a HikVision.
