Having the same issue with a HFS+ recovery right now. It flat out refuses to just image what I check marked and wants to image all files. Can we get a quick update for this?

Quick updates never seem to happen. When you discover a glitch, the next update to fix it never comes out before your support expires.

Exporting a file list now includes metadata crap that I didn't checkmark at the end of the list. Going back to the previous version till this mess is fixed. Come on Ace, what happened?

Longshot, but: are you "deep" scanning the catalog file and selecting/moving from the scan results partition, rather than the original found HFS partition? We always scan first and only had this problem once (and I was thinking maybe we didn't scan it for some reason).

In DE. Explorer. Right click HFS partition. Scan-->Catalog file. This will "deep scan" the partition. The result is a new HFS partition with a green "checkmark." Are you "mapping" the files from this partition (not the original HFS partition)?

I have just confirmed (at least on my rig) that my hypothesis is true (target files after a scan and it works). Everyone should be running a full scan of the CAT anyhow to give customers the most amount of data (often it finds lost or missing files that weren't in original HFS partition). Since we almost always do this, we never noticed the problem (until the one day we didn't scan the partition).

Well, that appears to work, but it takes a while, and somewhat defeats the point of only touching what is needed. How often is it on a recovery-without-deletion that doing a full catalog scan produces desired files that aren't otherwise seen, do you think? There are pros and cons, I would guess.
(I don't really know the difference between a full catalog scan vs. what DE would do of the selected folders when just selecting certain files/folders...I guess I assumed it normally scans the catalog file for the folders that were selected as it's building the map...is that not what it does?)

Often it will find other missing/lost files (not sure the percent, since we always do it). I think it's best (assuming not lots of platter damage in MFT/CAT) to always deep scan all drives before targeting.

For the record, it also seems to be doing the same thing on exFAT formatted drives too.
I don't see many of these, but on the first I've tried (that I've noticed), it has the same issue.
PC3k SAS also is affected, at least on my older v 5.9.21 / 5.3.36 DE (with exFAT)... haven't tested HFS+ on PC3k SAS.

NTFS, FAT32, EXT3 all seem ok still, from memory.

HFS seems to have been fixed in the latest update.

Now, however, several times after cloning the selection, I've noticed that DE is cloning everything and not just the selection. I think it might be automatically moving to try a full clone after having success with the selection...either that or it messes up partway and then just starts trying to clone all sectors instead of just the selection (I haven't yet caught it at the moment the issue occurs. This has happened at least 3 times already, and I think with NTFS drives too. Is this an added preference, or is it a bug?
Any suggestions or others experiencing the same?

Actually, reviewing the map list, one file had a size of almost the entire disk, so it went back and was cloning that. Weird. That might be the issue with the others this has happened with. I've never noticed this happening before this update...

I'm having the same issue with HFS partitions, it marks EVERYTHING and not just the folder you mark. HFS partitions now also mark millions of files in HFS+ private date (I think that's what it's called) and marking stuff on an NTFS partition marks huge amounts of MFTxxx data.

Things worked fine before, why they changed it to do this I don't know.

I also had/have an issue where the new version 6.2 won't allow me to read WD ROM over Toshiba terminal anymore so I had to roll back to an older version. Oh, and PC3K crashes every other day. Bugs all round :(
