DE conflict with Windows 10?

Postby lcoughey » 29.06.16, 18:23

Both my UDMA-E and my Express systems now show the same issue, now that they are both running windows 10. The symptoms are as follows:

Boot windows - disk manager, R-Studio, UFS Explorer and any other application that access physical disks work fine
Load PC3K - programs still work fine
Load a task in DE - it can take 5-10 minutes to load any program that accesses physical disks

I did not have this issue with Windows 8.1 which I just upgraded a couple days ago on my Express system. I don't recall how long the issue has been around with the UDMA-Express system, but it only seems to have become an issue in the past month or two.

Anyone else have this issue?

One of my windows systems has been running 10 for almost a year and it is just recently that it started doing this. I'm not sure if it was caused by the latest PC3K update, a windows update or something else. The second system was working absolutely fine on Windows 8.1 last week and just went stupid after we upgraded the system to Windows 10. With DE now being able to deactivate a destination drive, I'm wondering if something is conflicting with that feature.

Is there a simple way to set the default in DE to not have "Offline destination drive" selected? I'm pretty sure that this is my issue.

I stand corrected...just created a task with it not selected and this time, it does the same thing.

Reverting back to 6.0.16.6223 seems to have resolved the issue, which confirms to me that is an issue with the latest version of PC3K (6.1.x)

I've notified ACE TS about this and they are going to notify the developers.

I just got a report back from TS stating that my two completely different PC3K systems that work perfectly fine with 6.0 are the root cause of my issues when I upgrade to 6.1. Perhaps I'm the only one with this issue, but someone else out there must be having the same issues I'm having. It seems kind of ironic that as soon as I upgrade to the version of PC3K with DE that has the new feature to set the destination drive to "Offline", I run into issue with disk management, only after I open DE.

The TS response was that the issue was with my two different windows 10 systems. So, i just reverted my express system back to Windows 8.1, which resolves the issue there. The other system is running Windows 10 and the 6.0 of PC3K. It would be nice to have someone try to figure out why DE is breaking windows 10, rather than ignore it.
