Postby unspoken » 13.06.16, 11:44

Hello Folks, i have to say that DM series makes crazy.

My patient drive ST3000DM001. First problem was No ID and access terminal. i solved that issue and drive worked. When i was clone Head1 was weak. Disabled it and contunie to cloning. When cloning process at %40 i cant read any sector at udma mode. But i can read with utility but very slowly. i head swaped and worked well, i started clone again with udma mode. maybe 2 hours later i havent read any sectors again. But still read sectors with utility as slowly.

cleared the smart. nothing changed.
tried translator regen still same.
edit id unchecked all box, still same.
i had no success for recover translator.

i wanna show the log..

i need any advice please.

Thanks

Well,
Can you cross check if you can read sectors at good speed fro all heads for a few sectors from all heads or you have to use active utility from start only

tried translator regen still same.

Check NRGL. If translator was rebuilt based on PLIST but without NRGL then some NRGL defects may be preventing access to data in normal read mode. In most cases where translator is rebuilt without NRGL defects access via utility is often still possible.

Can you post output from V40 here?
