Dear Waleed,

Format SA and tracks can be performed with self-test.
The procedure is described in Marvell_en.pdf manual.
Unfortunately if drive is clicking, it has a problems with a reading, and I don't think that SA format will help if heads or surface are bad.

ACE developers are working on ARCO and ZONE features. They can't promise it will be added into next software release.
But they have some achievments in this area. Hopefully it will be added in one of next releases.
With best regards

Well,
SA Format Observation is Wrong Why Well SA Format Will Only Remove Bad And Unstable Sectors if And Only if Its a Correctable Bad Sector Not a Physical Bad Sector .For Physical Bad Sector You Have The Liberty To Migrate a Module To a Working Section

Sure ,
Go Ahead And Then Wait for My comment ,I Will Possibly Blow Your Argument To Pieces ,Of Course What You Say Works But not for Physical Defects In SA

After this video watching I have some questions.. As far as I understood, Dir, and maybe some another important modules like T-List, for example, were bad. Drive was clicking because of that. Drive was forced into a kernel mode, Service Area was erased in Kernel. Then they wrote new Dir, then wrote all other modules.

Why they erased the SA (if they really erased :) ), if it was enough to start a drive with a donor Dir and loader in RAM, write a new Dir, then write necessary modules after restart?
Too much actions.. What if heads were bad, they just "brick" the drive and all surface could be lost.. PC-3000 can operate with Dir and loader in RAM, which is much more safe for surface.

Dear waleed, if you have a real clicking cases, despite in most clicking cases the problem is in heads\surface, please be free to contact us at ts.acelab.eu.com , we will do the best to save the drive and data.
