Hello,
There is one trick to make donor heads read: move head adaptives from donor to patient ROM.
Save donor and patient ROMs first.
Then follow Tools->Utility extensions->Work with flash ROM file command.
There is an icon with "DATA" word on it, so load patient ROM then press it and move donor head adaptives to it.
Save changes in patient ROM, restart the drive and utility.
If donor heads will not read SA again, those donor is not compatible.

Re: More Head Adaptives Questions
No, it's not compulsory. In my experience moving head adaptives doesn't even help very often. Usually they either work, or just don't work. I think it's really more for addressing speed issues if it isn't reading well, but if it's not reading at all then it's not likely to even help.

Re: More Head Adaptives Questions
How are you matching the read/write heads you're replacing with? That's most the battle, getting the right ones. The recently updated DonorDrives guide is actually really accurate: http://www.donordrives.com/hard-drive-pcb-donor-match

Re: More Head Adaptives Questions
Here, I posted an explanation with pictures in this thread: https://www.data-medics.com/forum/how-t ... t1205.html
You'll need to be running PC-3000 version 5.8 or higher I believe or the menu option isn't there.

This option is available for 6.0 version only.

Re: More Head Adaptives Questions
Thanks! I did the two upgrades so close to each other I couldn't remember which one had added it.
