It is especially important when the customer's hard disk drive will be bricked soon and you urgently need to know which data the customer needs most of all. With DE Viewer your customer can set up the priorities for the critical files and folders to be recovered and make some comments for you.

Reports to customers became much easier
Starting from the software version 5.1.12 of Data Extractor, PC-3000 users can create a report on the restored data. Now the context menu of any virtual file system which was newly created via «Make snapshot» menu item has an "Export Report" menu. This option allows you to create the minimum-sized file that contains information about the restored section. You can send this file to the customer who can open it using a new «DE Viewer» application. This application is available at https://www.acelaboratory.com/downloads.php
What your customer can do
Your customers can view the information about the data that can be recovered, mark the files they need and you will know exactly which files you need to recover. It is possible to mark the desired files, post comments, search, watch information about the files.
After your customer has chosen the data to be recovered, he clicks " Prepare results to send back" option. The file is sent to the data recovery center.
How to use the customer's report
You can open the file received from your customer by selecting "Import Report" menu in the context menu of the file system (from which the report was exported) . All marks and comments made by the customer will be applied to this file system.

I've tried using it twice so far and it can never open the exported report.

It seems to me that you have some internal restrictions set up in your system.
We have tried that with PC-3000 UDMA-E and on PC-3000 Express Data Extractor software, for Win7x64 and Win8.1x64.
Please check you system permissions and tell us the results.
Make sure UAC is turned off and there is no protection software configured, to avoid that kind of access.

Yes, same problem Alyn and I have I believe. UAC is off and anti-virus is not the problem. I tried the same report on 64 bit and 32 bit windows 7 computers, and they don't work, so I assume the problem is with the file listing. I sent via PM to Dima to see if he can open it.

A major reason I paid to upgrade was for this file listing feature. Please solve the problem or offer more suggestions to us to try to get it working.

We need following details:
- how did you open report file (via button in utility or by double-click on report file);
- version and bit of Windows;
- system language (except of Russian and English).
To define errors we have to use log version of DE Viewer.

I have been using it since it came out and have not experienced any problems at all with it. The ONLY complaint I have is that when the customer gets "YES" or "NO" Prompt, it is in Russian, not English. Very minor issue.
I think the ONLY way I can have some problem is if I do not make a snapshot first. I've been using it for extremely LARGE cases such as very large raid arrays ,etc. Basically 3TB and larger where we can negotiate what gets imaged with the client. I like this option VERY much for large amounts of data!
