Hi - can you send a link to your pic? I'm interested to see how it's connected exactly.

Does anyone know what the advantage is of using this method over normal kernel reading of ROM?

I believe this is used when internal rom is corrupt.

Yes, I've confirmed that this procedure works when the PCB has a corrupted ROM, such as after an unsuccessful ROM rebuild operation. This allows you to restore the board to operation. Very nice feature.

Where is aces documentation of this?

I figured out that the 2.5 sata board uses pins 2-3 of 1-2-3-4

also wouldn't go into boot mode with being attached to a drive.

Hi

What does this mean?
HDD Initialization...
Power off............................... : Ok
Power on................................ : Ok
HDD Initialization...................... : Error: 0x80020201

I'm testing a 2,5" PCB 771692.

Thanks

771692 is with external ROM, this process will repair PCB where internal ROM in CPU is damaged, I guess your case does not work because it is external ROM.

You can repair your external ROM in a ROM programmer.

Maybe someone from Acelab can confirm this for you?

This Probably could be that your connection is not good with serial port.
