Last sector missing when emulating disk?

Postby ketil » 14.04.14, 16:01

I have a disk that was copied with Data Extractor 5.0.0.3050. When I mount the task as an emulated disk, the emulated disk is missing one sector. Is the final sector missing? Off-by-one error in Data Extractor maybe? If I look at the bin files directly, all the sectors are there.

I just noticed something else strange. DE got confused while recovering the disk, so when I was finished it said remaining sectors was about -450000 (note: negative number), so it has copied a lot of sectors two times. I right-clicked on the Map and chose "recalc" to fix the confusion, and that was ok. I made a copy of the emulated disk before and after doing the recalc, and the checksums of these two copies are different! So some data has changed in my copies, that's not good. Which one is correct, and what is the difference?? (Actually, none of them are "correct", because both copies are missing one sector.)
