Postby asocla » 28.11.13, 03:57

I've a Usb WD5000BMVW hard disk,
i've changed the heads and the pcb, i've converted the pcf from usb to sata.
I've cloned all disk, but now i don't see any data, because the disk ha a crittography.
is it possible to decrypt the disk with ED?

Hi,

What do you mean with ED?

You need the correct WD adapter (Initio, Symwave, JM, etc). You can check that on the patient PCB.

hello
De I can not access the data because of disk encryption.
I would like to know if there is a way to decrypt it without using the original disk pcb patient.
thanks

Hi,

Yes, there is. DE (Data Extractor) is not an option, it does not decrypt anything.

You don't need original PCB, but you need an adapter from same encryption chip.
Can you post a picture of the PCB here?
