Hi all,
I have a WD1003FBYX-01Y7B0 Enterprise storage (yellow) drive that had bad heads.
I have changed the heads and the drive "gets ready" it can ID and can read all modules fine, all modules read and are ok.
However I cannot access the drive at a sector level.
Has anyone got any suggestions on such a case?
Thank you
Jason

One head is not reading well. This could be because of bad process, some errors on surface, or JOG / DAC values could need to be adjusted.
First, check module 32 if its not empty clear it (Relo list).
Run Head Map Edit in RAM, set all heads to '0' then send soft reset, in open DE task try to read from some early sector that is read with H0. If this reads well, set map in RAM to default and try to read all surface.
If power or readiness is lost, you need to repeat process.
