Hello,
I have a Toshiba MK3265GSX with a missing original PCB board. From what I understand, most of the firmware of the Toshiba discs are stored on the PCB.
Is it possible to put a donator PCB on it, without the original PCB?!?
Thank You for any answers,
Åsalena

Åsalena Hello.
Unfortunately, on Toshiba drive, adaptive data is stored in its ROM. Zone allocation tables and other parameters that are necessary
for reaching the user data. I have never seen a case, where donor board was a solution.
So there is no way than looking for original board for this drive.
If you will manage to find original board, swap the ROM chip, it has IC602 number near it.

Re: Toshiba MK3265GSX PCB board missing
Thank You for your quick answer!!
We located what is left of the pcb. It's broken in pieces, but fortunately the ROM chip was intact on the one piece we found.
Now the problem is we don't have a donor disk. We are searching for one, but I would like to ask a question about donors; Does the donor disk need to be an EXACT match, or can it be any differences in the disk model number?!
(We have been offered a MK3263GSX, and from what I understand the last two digits refers to the head type??! Could any difference be acceptable?!)

PCB donor must not be with a same model. Same family will work.
You should use a logic board from xxx65GSX model drive(x any symbol) will have same looking board.
