This is a usb 3 drive.
Connected with usb 2 cable
windows see drive.
start pc3000
select WD USB models
pc3000 see drive and model #
try autodetect
drives light flashes

then gets errorL
hdds ram reading error; unexpected error: ATA command sending error (method 3) win32 error. Code 121
The semaphore timeout period has expired.

Now if you reenter the utility it cant find the usb drive.
Windows can still see and access the drive but it gets errors and locks up.

You're not very clear in your explanation.
What do you mean Windows sees the drive?

windows sees a 500gb drive attached.
it detects it in compter management->disk-management

The drive is wd encrypted.
ts got a gpt pasrtition
so its probably mac
it gets hung up w bad sectors starting at 4.9 million.

maybe I just need to clone it...

but the pc3k isnt talking to it...

I finally figured out the pinouts for the terminal connection.
It starts up with this below.
But I cant seem to be able to do anything else.
What are the instrucitons for talking to these usb drives.
Do you turn the power on the pc3000 card or not?

I got it to read the modules.
The only thing I did different is to power the usb from an external ps and not from the motherboards usb.
I also did not power on the pc3k card.
