I have a problem with one of those drives.
It does not spin up and in terminal it continuously reports "Rst 0x08M" it seems it's on a loop of hard resets..
If I connect only the PCB the same thing happens. I tested the resistances on the motor coils they are around 8.5 ohm,
I also tried the R/W channel short but still nothing happened.
What should I do next? Should i look for donor pcb?

hm it seems to be the smooth chip
i ll find a donor pcb and post back

I have the same problem with HDD STM3250318AS ;

in power on just shows Rst 0x08M and stay in busy without motor powering off,
Spining sound is normal, and check heads result is
Head 00 Resistance 00FA
Head 01 Resistance 00EE

PCB changing is not works also donor pcb with native rom not works too.

Hi,

You can try to regenerate translator before clearing SMART.
