ST3320820AS PCB Problem

Postby mojimorady » 02.05.11, 14:41

Dear guru
hi
i have a hdd in the following detals:
Seagate Barracuda7200.10 , ST3320820AS , 320GB SATA 3.5" , FW : 3.AFE
the problem is , its PCB is faulty and it is not repairable ,
now i have another hdd in the following specification :
Maxtor DiamondMax21 , STM3320820AS , 320GB SATA 3.5" ; FW : 3.AAE

i checked the Maxotr's PCB , it is completely same as the faulty PCB , the circuit , all the number on main chips
, anyway all are the same but the problem is just the FIRMWARE .

now my question is :
is that possible to make the maxtor PCB comptaible For the seagate HDD ?
if possible , should i just resolder the ROM of seagate to maxtor PCB ?

best regards

Hi,

I think it's possible.
Can you post a picture of both PCB's here?
