Hi everyone,
I have this 2,5" Seagate with knocking heads at the startup and on terminal I see:
Rst 0x10M
LED:000000DD FAddr:003402FE
And it remains BSY.
I suppose these are damaged heads.
Furthermore I swapped PCBs of another working drive with the same exactly parameters and this is what I got in terminal:
PCB PATIENT ON DONOR:(no knocks)
Rst 0x10M
LED:00000047 FAddr:060B9040
PCB DONOR ON PATIENT:(always knocking heads)
Rst 0x10M
LED:00000067 FAddr:00000111
LED:00000067 FAddr:00000111
What's the differences between these 3 log messages, and do you think my patient has really damaged heads?
Thank you!

ROM is adaptive so will result in knocking for most cases.
You can isolate PCB on your case, perform spindown and reattach PCB to HDA. upon spinup you will see error code. This code may help you diagnose fault.
I think is likely that heads are failed.
