Problem with Maxtor 6L080L0 Calipso family

Postby Powermax » 07.05.10, 15:57

Hi to all.
I connect this Hdd to Pc3K and i perform SA chk
I see module 78, 18 and 1B was bad
I try to rewrite it and regen translator using good module 33, but the process end with error
I try to make a SA Surface analisys with remap option enabled ( i try this more times ) but that not solve the problem
I try to use Autorecovery procedure, but that not solve the problem too.

Some one can tell me how i can remap bad sector from SA ?
May be if i can remap bad sector in SA i can write it and try to restore bad module.

Any help is welcomed.

Thank you to all

Does HDD identify as Calypso or 8L080L0 when set as master?

If is identified normal you can begin DE task while Maxtor utility is loaded, and through option 'Read from active PC3000 utility' in 'Comman to Read' tab in Options you can enable translator modules to load externally from backup of modules made from the disk. Maybe you can read from alternate copy, or with Composite.

Alternatively, HotSwap may allow for data access, as long as all dependant modules are written to donor first.
