HM320JI Hotswap

Postby rcz » 05.02.10, 16:18

Hi to all,

I have a HM320JI Samsung whose PCB was burned.
I got a donor for hotswap. I could read patient modules to write it to donor but after off/on, the drive stays in BSY...
Here was the terminal log :
1.5G Limited
SPW
IS=+00003
SO
H: +00000
Ld
SK C: 00000E56
ENG>SRV>
SvoTbl Loaded
BD

All the modules have been copied to donor except OVERLAY.

Have I done something wrong ?

Finally I found another donor to "repair" the first donor.
--> Back to square one.

I do not think all modules are required to be written. Also, Overlay will need to be written I believe.

I had similar case where I try write patient modules to donor and donor developed same failure. In my case I had a T166s, and modules causing problems was "0C ARCOTBL" and "0D GEO_TBL". Not sure how relevant these modules are in your case, but maybe you need hotswao your second donor with your first to write all mods back to first donor, now you will have 2 working donors. Hotswap with patient drive and write modules individually until you can indentify the module causing problem, then use second donor and repeat without writing bad module :)

You're right ! All the modules don't need to be copied.

I just copied the modules whose importance is "As" and "Ad". The donor get ready and the hot swap worked, I can access to data. "Overlay" wasn't necessary in my case.

Thanks man ! 8)

But I don't which modules caused problem...
