Toshiba MK4019GAX SMART question

Postby cdc » 30.01.10, 17:16

Hello,

I have two Toshiba's MK4019GAX drives which behave in the same way... altough reallocated sector count is 0, the SMART of does drives shows FAILED.

Clearing SMART and G-LIST doesn't help, off-line extended smart test returns without errors but status does not change.

Any advice on how to deal with this problem?

Thanks in advance.

What's your purpose? To repair the drive?

Hi,

Have you made a logical scan to the drive?
Can you post SMART error here?

Hello,

Yes, logical scan has been made without errors.

It was a strange case but i think everything is OK. Complex test in PC-3000 universal utility on both drives completed without any errors (also SMART is marked as OK).

MHDD shows 'failed in the past' message at reallocated sector count attribute and HD Tune PRO windows software showed FAILED.

Anyway it seems like both drives are good...

Regards.
