LED 00000CC problem with ST3250310NS

Hello,

I have a ST3250310NS (Barracuda ES.2)

FW: HPG2

The drive sounds like correct calibration but it isn't recognized by the BIOS.

When I conect the drive through PC3000 the terminal shows me the mssage Probably "HDD Lock (LED: 000000CC)"


Then I run the solution "HDD Lock (LED: 000000CC)" and I have this result when I reconnect the board and press OK :



Is that drive not supported ?

This could be one of the newer 7200.11 which standard repair will not work. Have you read the new manual from acelab regarding these 7200.11? It details locations on PCB to short to access terminal.

Havent done one myself yet, looks straightforward though

Hi Misa and AJ2008,

I have another same disk with the same error. I'll try to repair it using the metod taht describes the tutorial for Barracuda ES.2 drives but wiith not success.

It isn't clear for me when I have too short the two points of read channel and I'm not sure that I am doing correctly.

I have the follow doubt:

The shorting of checkpoints replaces the unscrew/screw of the PCB?

sometimes I need disconnect and reconnect USB port after put PCB on drive ;o)

the Terminal COM port Connection somtime very bad connection... I need to plug unplug several time to have a good connection.....
