I have a WD1600BEVE - 22WZT0 Which makes a sound as if wire were either breaking or hitting the top of the case. When
I ran PC 3000udma in McKinley mode I receive the following information:

The problem into this case should be in PCB.
You should to find a donor drive for HotSwap.
