I try to run one MHT2040AT with firmware label A3-0022 (by looking at the hard disk label).

When I tried to write ROM, I got error such as "ROM Reading Parameters not assigned"

Then I stat utility status and key in the firmware revision "A3-0022". I still can not read the ROM.

I tried HDD Resource Reserving command with the same error.

I gather I may have to do this in kernel mode. The manual mentioned that 2 data line had to be short circuited. Any one had the detailed info how to do this ?

Procedure:
aˆ? Launch the utility while the locked HDD is connected.
aˆ? Click A«Password unlockingA». The utility will power-off the drive.
aˆ? Connect the probe to the pins and hold it there.
aˆ? Click OK in the dialog A«Set probe to the positionA». The utility will powerup
the drive. As soon as the drive reports on readiness, the utility will display a A«Remove probe!A» message.
