HTS541 Safe mode

How can I put this drive into safe mode so I can read NV-RAM?

Hi Datalabace,

If its SATA drive you have only take off PCB from HDA and this is safe mode.
For PATA drive you have to put jumpers at PC-2 adapter as its showen at IBM manual at page 15, Fig.11.

Inside IBM manual, I can't see any HTS541 figure. It only start from DTLA and end at HTS726.

I have also check pdf inside personal update box but can't find any manual regarding HTS541

PC-3000 PCI can't unclock the password.
PC-3000 UDMA can do it , but it also depends from the model.
What is the full name of your drive?

HDD HT541 (40gb - ATA2.5)

I dont have the drive with me now.. i will let you know the model drive later on
