How long is the Self Test in Maxtor NP40

Hi all,

I don't know when the self test finish. I can't see self-testing progress display on-screen. I only see driveaˆ™s LED on PC-3000 tester board blinks at 1 Hz and some time change rate

Please help me!

Tell me please if you followed the steps for Self test, as it is described in manual?

Usually self test lasts for 10-30 minutes, how long was your test?

Maxtor's utility manual has the description on page 47.

Dear Igor,

I followed the manual(page 29):

- Launching the untility
- Tool -> Utility extensions -> Self test
- Launch self test (F9), selec "reset modul 33" and "test after switching power off and on".
- Wait about 5 minute for program clear modul 33
- switching power off and on. I saw the LED of PC3000 blinks at 2 Hz about 5 minute after that blinks at 1 Hz

I have tested about 20 hour
