Toshiba MK1031GAS - cannot be detected

Postby DR_Ireland » 14.01.08, 14:04

I have this drive, it is being detected in Windows but is extremely slow to access. I tried to hook it to PC3000 but got Status register: BSY=blue, DRD=blue, DWF=red, DSC=blue, DRQ=blue, CRR=red, IDX=blue, ERR=red. and all red on the 'Error register'. I set jumpers as in the manual but still same problem, what could that be?

I think maybe you haven't set jumpers well, as if it's detected in windows, it sure should be in PC3K.

Yeah! That's why I find it very unusual. I set jumpers as in the manual but it is not being detected neither on ATA0 nor ATA1 port.

Talk with Ace Support so that they send you a picture on how to connect those jumpers.

Have you tried to set Cable Select in PC3K ? If not go to Tools->Cable select control -> ATA0/ATA1.
Hope this helps
