Integrity file check

Hello dears,

I propose to make a discusion about data recovery service quality, and here I think at integrity files check. For example in some cases not always is possible to get all files correctly (bad sectors, etc). It this case sometime client want to know correct percent of recovered files. What methods uses each of us?

Hi Monk,
This is good ideas to start discussion about this. But although I know it is very difficult to be sure that all data of client are good. And very often we have to trust our client about recovered data.

P.S. Your English is OK, I can understand you and it is important. For example my English is not better than your

That would be nice, but a very complex project, because to be really sure that the file is working, better thing would be to open it, but that's not possible if you have thousands of them. You would have to check file signature and some more details, but in the end it could happen that signature is ok, but file is damaged somehow.

A great help for me is the Data Extractor log file, at the end of saving process...

The only way to know if a file is OK it's getting a full CRC from the file... but to do the CRC it's necesary to open an "know" the internal structure. If all files at the end of it could have a signature could be more easy to check. But this take space from disk and could increze files amoung.

So I think that's not possible... hope I'm wrong.
