Hitachi HTS541616J9SA00 unlocking

Hi We have a problem with a security locked HTS541616J9SA00 - or at least it states that it's locked.
So far hotswaps and trying to access SA with doner NV-Ram has been unsuccesfull - and the unlocking procedure (below) though stating no errors, gives no result.
Any thoughts on this?

Are you using a donor nv-ram for that???

No it's the original

I never had much problems unlocking those.

Client stated that there was an ATA password - but the one he provided didn't solve the problem.
My best guess is that the module ICES containing the password is damaged.. and that the PC3000 unlocing procedure doesn't verify writing to it.
One could hope for a good copy 1 of the SA - but how do I access that - or know if its reading from it - when the lock's still in place?
