WD1JMVW

Postby emir_has » 22.02.18, 08:01

Hi

I have this drive as patient and it has head isssue. So I swap heads with donor which is almost identical (3 month difference, DCM same). I it is USB drive so also i found SATA compatible board. This compatible board is ok tested on working drive it is ok.
So i swap heads but when i want to transfer microjogs from donor wd utility doesnt show any values (only zeros). So can somene tell me is it bug or it is normal for these drives??
If it is normal is there any other adaptives which i have to transfer from donor?
Why then hdd doesnt initialize normal with donor heads???

Thank you guys!

Hello

The Microjogs in these drives are in different place, that's why we can't edit them and can't build the head map in RAM.
Most possibly the donor was not compatible, and you need to look for new heads.
