Self Encryption Device (SED) Problem

Postby betty » 31.03.18, 11:46

I have 2tb WD Usb Hdd and i convert it to SATA ... Now its working with Error SED .. I followed the following thread "http://blog.acelab.eu.com/pc-3000-hdd-how-to-solve-sed-problem-in-25-wd-drives.html ".. after that everything OK.. But When i trying to recover the data i can't get any data from the hdd. But when we check the Sector view , i can see the data in there .

Also one more thing " the customer told me that he was used the password for opening the hdd by the utility of WD. unfortunately, the Drive was formatted.

I remove the SED from Hdd Edit ID . Even I am not able to get any Data.

Any one have face the same experience, please help...

Did you forget to check decryption in Data Extractor settings? You need to choose the same decryption option that gave you data access in the utility. After you resolve the issue, don't forget to clear map for any sectors that were read without decryption.

Probably it was a Cryptographic erasure

If it was WD Smartware, it was necessary to use this software for decryption, but I'm afrain AJ2008 is right as always: after a few wrong retries the data was formatted...
