Strange Case ST500LT012

the drive in questin is spinning fine without any abnormal sound.
get ID correctly, cam read all modules and sys files without any problem. BUT can't access user area !!

here is the log:

when try to read any sector:

Starting LBA of RW Request=00000100 Length=FFFFFFFF
ProcessRWError -Read- at LBA 00000100 Sense Code=43110081
SP is invalid
Unrecoverable Error Reported


So far I have tried a donor pcb, Translation Regeneration, s.m.a.r.t clear, disable media cache etc with no luck.
Translator recovery did't work on it.

will highly appreciate any help.

Do you have a backup of Translator, NRGlist and P-list sys files before any procedures?
Try to return back an original NRG-list sys files then send m0,6,3,,,,,22 terminal command for Translator regeneration procedure.

Hi ,
I have some inputs here .I have noted that if we have a damaged head translator recovery never works due to the fact all sectors that are on dead head are treated like bad sectors ,messing up situation more ,Its better to test all heads before this procedure

I have also tested new heads and problem is same, so definitely not a head problem.

Did you manage to do something about it? I have the same case.
Translator regeneration also did not help.
