Build a heads map starting at the end?

Postby gterry » 28.04.14, 22:50

I have an 500gb Hitachi HTS5450B series. It has four heads and lets me build a heads map up to 234000000 sectors then times out. Using that heads map and disabling head 0 (its bad) I can successfully image the rest of the remaining three good heads up to the 234000000 mark then it I guess looses the map and starts using head 0 again and screwing up. Im thinking there must be a bad area around that mark. Without putting a new set of heads in, is there a way to run the head map procedure backwards from 976773167 to that 234000000 mark so that I can run the imaging backwards and disable head 0?

Hello gterry,

In task parameters in Data Extractor select back direction, and define start and final sectors.
Also you can try to initialize translator in RAM
