A potential headache with new WD-HGST drives

Postby Miodrag » 31.01.18, 12:28

I just ran into a new combination of WD-HGST drive (HTS545050B7E660). https://imgur.com/a/mphjO
Unfortunately, I didn't have time to play with him because he was brought to collect clients data. I only try it shortly on PC3000 and look like there's gonna be a problem to work with FW and service area on this drive. The model isn't supported yet by PC3000 (didn't seem to initial properly as wd or hgst model) but we will probably have it often for DR in future :D

Looks like "Hubble LT" and also FW 01.01A01 is noted many times in my Hubble LT base.

Yeah, autodetect just won't work right, but I'm pretty sure it'll all be fine after you manually load the correct utility.
