Seagate F3 - Terminal : error detecting HDD terminal baud rate

Postby dixonkyleard » 07.12.17, 00:58

Hi, I'm extremely new to PC-3000. My first diagnosis is a Seagate F3 drive. I'm currently following this tutorial: http://blog.acelab.eu.com/wp-login. ... stics.html

The drive I'm working on is:
Model: ST3000DM001
FW: CC44

While trying to run the utility, I get the message: Error initializing microprogram tables! Alternative initialization is possible.

Update:
I'm not sure if the messages I was getting are because I wasn't choosing the specific family under the utility rather than running 00 F3 Arch (Common), but I now think that the specific family is a 7200.14 Grenada. After running that utility this is my terminal output:

Repeating FAIL Servo Op=0100 Resp=0007 and FAIL Servo Op=0100 Resp=0003 is most likely bad heads. It's best to look at the heads under microscope, they are probably covered in mud :(

Thanks Blizzard, Would disabling specific heads help in this case? We have clean room, but I'm inexperienced right now. Also any idea what the ABR status registar is?
