HEAD SWAP

Hello Everyone..

can any body tell me how to do the head swap..??

Heads test
Cylinder to test........................ : -10
Heads to test........................... : 3,4
Head 3.................................. : Error W : 0;R : 1
Head 4.................................. : Ok

how can i change this head while keeping the drive capacity as it is..??

Your post makes very little sense. If you have good heads in your drive it is highly advisable that you attempt to secure information from this drive before attempting any repairs. Also, secure SA backup also as in some case best action after heads change is hotswap from a modified donor.

do any sectors read in current state?

yes, i can read sectors, even data is accessible..

if head 0 is bad, can i switch the SA to another good head? if yes then how can i do that?

If data is accessible then adaptives are loaded which means SA has loaded - no need to switch SA.

Did you make image of all good heads? Is this enough to get data? What do you want to do next?

i already backed up the drive data.. now i just want to fix the drive..
"actually i wish to learn how can we move SA to another head, if drive head 0 is bad so how can i move/copy SA to head 1 or any other good head"

H1 will have its own copy. Usually there will be 2 service heads.

If you want to repair, disable bad head and rebuild with reduced capacity to exclude bad head

can you please tell me in detail how can i remove head 0 and copy that SA to head 2 or 3.
as i read in manual that "if the system head has been disabled (logical head 0 or 1) you have to read all modules and write all modules as well."
