Hi
I got this HDD that came with the 0MB error.
I did a translator regen with UDMA and got the drive detected fine.
Tested the sector view and it read sectors. (tough, I didn't tested the last sectors...)
Heads tested fine, modules read fine.
So I started to image the drive with DDI.
But I only got the fisrt 15% of the drive read, all the rest I can't read.
Tested heads on DDI and I only get 4 or 5 green blocks on all heads, as you can see on the picture. When testing the HDD starts to screech.
Can heads be really dead or is this a FW problem?
How reliable is the head test on terminal of UDMA?
I ask this because another case where heads tested fine and after all 1 was bad....http://www.deepspar.com/forum/showth...?t=4246&page=2
Thanks

If translator is cleared with no regard for NRG entries, data will be accessible up until the position of the first NRG entry, then because of inconsistencies in translator, no reading beyond this is possible.
To repair, translator needs to be recovered, or native NRG entries need to be restored.
