Hello,

WD drive needs special headstack alignment, this is why you can't get any success.
Me and Pepe both can handle this problem, if you are interested.

Hi !

I've been seeking for the solution for WD head alignment for over years.
According to the topic by N.C. , it seems the MHA's place ajustment is important .

Actually I had known about the outline already and have some success, but in these days
most of the patients are over 500GB and impossible to get data.

Today, I drew an illustration. I hope everyone uderstand what I want to express.
Now the question is "What should I adjust ?"

The space between the HDA pivot and the MHA ?
The angle of those 2 parts ?

Best Regards

You might consider the possibility that while positioning of HSA is important, so is information stored within the disks firmware coding regarding the positioning. This info can also be modified to reflect alternative HSA positioning.

Hi AJ2008 !!

I guess the data regarding MHA's positioning can be stored in the MHA itself or in the PCB , and not stored in SA, because the positioning data should be recognized before reading its SA.
As far as I know, adaptive (variable) data is stored in PCB's ROM ,,,,,,,,,,

My idea is wrong ?

The following info is a copy from another site. Thanks to the original author.

---------------------------------

Example for old models:

DCM: HSEHYV2AH

1- Motor (H)
2- Base (S)
3- Latch (E)
4- Bottom VCM (H)
5- Media (Y)
6- Headstack (V)
7- Actuator-Preamp (2)
8- Top VCM (A)
9- Separator (H)

----------------------------------

According to this info, it is possible that the conditions for a proper donor MHA is,
Best : 4,5,6,7,8
Better : 5,6,7

How is this ?

I'm now verifying my hypothesis and getting some results little by little.
