Unable to regenerate Translator for ST3146854SS SAS drive

Hi,

I am unable to rgenerate translator for ST3146854SS SAS drive FW S411. I was able to read all the Modules except #6. Ran SA verification, scan for the Zone allocation Table. But the translator regeneration always fails with the message:
Translator regeneration
Recalculate translator error: SPTI Command sending error; Win32 Error. Code: 1117.
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error

I had a new drive with the same modle and FW and it too fails to regenerate the translator and displays the same error code. I need help in translator regengarion as the orignal drive is not showing it correct capacity and I believe that it has medium error.
